When campaigns are due to go live on the platform, the team aim to manage task limits in a way that will allow more scribes to request work when available. This may mean that in busy times, when lots of jobs are available, everyone's task limit is higher or in quieter times-everyone's task limit is generally lower.
For example if you have a task limit of 250 and 100 jobs of 75 cards become available, you would be able to request three jobs to write in the turnaround time. If other scribes also have this task limit or a higher one, this would mean around 20-30 scribes working on this campaign with a high volume of cards to write in a short time frame.
When the next campaign comes through, no one working on that campaign will be able to request work for a future date as their task limit is at capacity.
Compare this to roughly 100 scribes having at least one job each, with the availability to request further jobs as they come through.
The team aim to manage task limits to give everyone the chance to request work whilst ensuring campaigns are completed on time and to quality standards. They need to consider the general amount of cards that can be completed by any one scribe. For example when campaigns come through we get many requests to raise task limits for a scribe to request a third, fourth, fifth or even sixth job. This means the reviewing process is slowed down as instead of six people writing simultaneously, only one job is being uploaded at a time and it means a small number of people have a high number of jobs while others have none.
On a more individual basis, your task limit may be lower due to performance on previous jobs e.g not meeting deadlines, handwriting quality, cancellations etc it helps to act as a preventative measure to having your scribe account closed. For example if you are working on a job and finding it difficult (We're all human and life happens!), the team will work with you to complete it or reallocate it, and your task limit may be lower the next time you request a job to work at a more manageable level.
