You can cancel the job up to 2 hours after requesting by hitting the 'cancel job' button that will show on the job itself within your 'My jobs' section.
This will move the job back to the platform for other writers to be able to request it.
When you request a job, always check the QA deadline, postal deadline, letter size, client copy and brief to ensure you are completely happy to take the job. Accepting a job is legally agreeing to complete the work.
Only use the cancel option for jobs you requested by mistake as using it often may reduce your task limit. In the past we have had people log on to request as many jobs as they can right away and then 'select' which ones to keep by cancelling the others. This means other scribes were not able to request a job that was available.
It is very difficult for the team to reassign jobs last minute and once the job is requested and the option to cancel has passed the job must then be manually reassigned as it is likely stationery has already been ordered for you.
If you need to cancel a job after the two hour window has passed you will need to raise a query form for scribe support, you can do this here
