For jobs where cards are to be returned in platform order, we usually send out belly bands which are long strips of paper with an adhesive part on the ends.
You can use these to gather a stack of cards and wrap the belly band around, the way you would a wristband and peel off the adhesive backing to stick it down so that the band forms a secure loop around the stack of cards holding them together, see an example here;
Our branded bely bands have a space for you to write in your name and job number, this is so the warehouse team can easily identity which job it is for if it becomes separated from your parcel.
It also has an orange dot that should face upwards to indicate which way up the cards are.
A belly band will hold between 25-30 cards so on larger jobs we include more than one. For this reason there is a section to fill in which stack that pile of cards is. So if you have a job of 60 cards, you would have two stacks and when packing up and adding the belly band, you can write on the space on the band to indicate which stack is the top of the pile i.e 1 of 2 or the bottom of the pile 2 of 2 so the print warehouse team know which to unwrap first.
Most often we ask scribes to send back to the warehouse using the box the stationery arrived in so please hold onto your box when it arrives if you are on a fulfilment job. It often includes bubble wrap or padding which you can use when sending back to help protect the cards in transit.
